e painting has a rectangular outer frame. A main drawing of two lions devouring a gazelle is surrounded by an oval frame, ornamented with rich, intermingled leaves and fruits. One of the lions is standing in front of the gazelle and the other is behind it.

Both of them raise a front paw to attack the gazelle, which is portrayed turning its head backward before falling on its feet. The lions have a brutal expression, while the gazelle is delicate. Gracefulness and good proportions are the distinguishing features of the animals.
