Black Varnished Wood Shrine
The black varnished wood shrine originally contained two snake statues on a standard. The walls of the shrine are crowned by molding and a convex roof that slopes away toward the back to resemble the Predynastic temples of southern Egypt. The upper part of the shrine is decorated by an Egyptian cavetto cornice or frieze. The shrine is entirely unmarked and rests on a wooden sledge, a strong heavy sled. | ||
