Bracelet of Queen Ahhotep
This bracelet, one of a pair, was found with other jewelry inside the sarcophagus of Queen Ahhotep and was given to her as a present from her son Ahmose the First. On the golden clasp the birth name of the king is engraved, "The son of Re, Ahmose, Beloved of Re." The throne name, however, is inlaid in gold on a blue background as follows, "The good God, Neb-Pehti-Re, may He be given life eternally." The bracelet is composed of 30 rows of beads of gold and semiprecious stones alternating with each other in such a way as to form triangles and squares. The clasp is made of two gold sheets that slide within each other to close the bracelet firmly. | ||
