Block Statue of Be-se-en-mut
Be-se-en-mut was a priest of the god Montu, Mayor of Thebes and judge of the city of Thebes. He is squatting on a round cushion and his body is completely covered by a cloak. His finely carved fingers hold a folded cloth. The front of the cloak is covered with eight rows of inscriptions topped by a double scene displaying two engraved figures of Be-se-en-mut: one facing left worshiping Osiris and Isis, and one facing right worshiping Amun and Amenet. The finely engraved back pillar bears a single row of text at the top and three additional columns of writing underneath a framing line, giving Be-se-en-mut's name and titles. | ||
