Block Statue of Nespaneferher

This statue of Nespaneferher, the Priest of Amun-Re, depicts him in the traditional block pose. He is wearing a shoulder length striped wig. His facial features, almond-shaped eyes and small nose and lips are delicately carved. The artist used the front surface of the statue to portray Nespaneferher in low relief. He is wearing the ritual leopard skin and holding a censer before an offering table in front of the god Osiris, "The foremost of the West and Lord of Abydos." Osiris appears here in his robe of mummification, wearing the Atef crown and holding a crook and flail.
